Lake Naivasha was the first hydroport in East Africa and was the centre of the opulent ‘Happy Valley’ settler population during the colonial era in the early 20th century. Hugged by grassy banks and shingled with cacti and sand olive trees, the Rift Valley’s highest lake (at 1884m above sea level) extends like a vast, sunlit sea.
